Declaraciones autorizadas del director ejecutivo de la Administración de Asuntos Federales de Puerto Rico (PRFAA, por sus siglas en inglés), licenciado Carlos Mercader:

En el día de ayer, el noticiero de Telemundo Orlando emitió declaraciones de Héctor Rodríguez, antiguo Community Officer de la Oficina Regional de PRFAA en Kissimmee, Florida, durante la Administración García Padilla, en las que éste indica que en la Oficina Regional "hay miles y miles de alimentos que fueron donados por el pueblo de Puerto Rico y nunca llegaron a los necesitados."

Statement from the Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA), Carlos Mercader:

Yesterday Telemundo Orlando broadcasted a statement from Héctor Rodríguez, a former Community Officer at PRFAA's Regional Office in Kissimmee, Florida, under the administration of Gov. García Padilla, where he states that the Regional Office has "thousands and thousands of food items that were donated by the people of Puerto Rico and were never sent to those who needed it."

DHS waives Jones Act in US regions affected by Hurricane Irma

(September 7, 2017 – Washington, DC) The Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration, Carlos Mercader, today announced that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), at the request of the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Energy (DOE), issued a 7-day waiver of compliance with the Jones Act (46 U.S.C. 55102) to areas affected by Hurricane Irma, including Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and Florida.

This decision reduces shipping regulations allowing for foreign vessels to transport fuels between American ports.
